The Big Event 2025

Each spring, Quinnipiac University leads The Big Event, a powerful community initiative that mobilizes students, faculty, and partners to give back through a day of service. Now celebrating its 16th year, this tradition strengthens local neighborhoods and supports meaningful causes. The You Got This, Kid! Leadership Foundation was excited to take part, working side by side with the QU community to drive positive change and promote environmental care. 

As part of the day’s efforts, the You Got This, Kid! Leadership Foundation joined forces with Save the Sound, the Mill River Watershed Association, and the Hamden Land Conservation Trust to complete a rain garden reawakening at Hamden Town Center Park. This hands-on project not only restored a vital green space but also helped improve local water quality and reduce pollution runoff—an effort that aligns closely with our Environmental Sustainability pillar. At YGTK!, we believe in taking action to protect and preserve our planet. Through partnerships like these, we remain committed to supporting initiatives that create lasting environmental impact for future generations.
