Qu Pre-Matriculation Celebration: We've Got This!

July 17, 2024- Our Year-End Celebration Dinner was held this year to celebrate the completion of our Pre-Matriculation program with Pre-Med students at Quinnipiac. This event brought together this amazing group of students as well as some esteemed faculty from Quinnipiac. President Judy Olian hosted this wonderful night and we were able to hear from our students about what they learned throughout the program with their presentation titled “We’ve Got This!”

Our students Sabrina, Benedicte, Meghana, Musa, and Victoria shared their own version of the book You Got This, Kid! Words of Advice for Young Leaders. They came up with a different group of animals and explained how their ways of living in the wild can connect to the medical world and how to be strong physicians within it.

Bumble Bee:

While the bumble bee is unassuming when first spotted, it plays an integral role in the pollination of the nature that surrounds us in everyday life. Our environment significantly benefits from its work. They operate in colonies or teams, with each of them carrying out a vital role in the pollination process. When they come together, we are able to see a product of their hard work, beautiful foliage filling the trees each year. As future physicians, these students will execute their vital roles to collectively create something far bigger than themselves. They all possess hard-working qualities and together will take part in creating a large impact in the medical world, just like the bumble bee. They all carry a duty and will see it through to create something beautiful.

Firefly:

Elephant:

Star Nosed Mole:

Salmon:

This year’s group of students exemplified true authenticity throughout our time together. We are all excited to see where they will end up. Through their undivided attention, we could tell that they absorbed the information and resources we provided them with and were going to hit the ground running. We know that they will keep our lessons close to them and that they will prioritize the vital component of humanity as medical professionals.
