You Got This, Kid! Leadership Foundation

Community Impact

At the You Got This, Kid! Leadership Foundation, we champion initiatives that uplift autoimmune communities, expand educational opportunity, and protect environmental health. Our programs bring together young leaders, medical students, patients, researchers, and advocates to create meaningful and lasting impact.

Growing the Next
Generation of Leaders

We believe young people can change the world when equipped with the right tools. Our programs develop:

  • Stronger soft skills—communication, adaptability, problem-solving
  • Confidence and leadership ability through mentorship and experiential learning
  • Career awareness in mission-aligned fields such as healthcare, public health, and environmental management

Advancing Autoimmune
Research & Education

We proudly fund autoimmune research grants through Quinnipiac University and the Rheumatology Research Foundation, supporting innovative scientific discoveries and expanding the pipeline of future rheumatology leaders. These investments help:

  • Inspire interest in rheumatology careers to address the growing shortage of specialists amid rising autoimmune diagnoses.
  • Boost understanding of autoimmune conditions, lifestyle, and environmental impacts. Our Leadership Training helped launch Quinnipiac University’s Rheumatology Interest Group (RIG), connecting students and healthcare professionals through research, mentorship, and advocacy to raise awareness and promote wellness.
  • Strengthen early exposure to rheumatology for pre-med and medical students

Expanding Access Through Scholarships & Grants

To remove barriers and open doors, we partner with the Rheumatology Research Foundation to fund autoimmune research grants and provide scholarships for students to attend the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Annual Meeting—one of the most influential learning and networking opportunities in the field.

Through this collaboration, students gain access to global experts, cutting-edge science, and meaningful mentorship that inspires the next generation of clinicians, researchers, and leaders in autoimmune and rheumatic disease care.

Hands-On Learning &
Real-World Experiences

  • Advocacy & Education Internships: Structured programs focused on autoimmune advocacy, health education, and environmental initiatives.
  • Community Impact Projects: Special initiatives allowing students to contribute directly to research support, organizational growth, and local community programs.

Global Impact Through
Education & Giving

Our commitment to empowering the next generation extends beyond local borders.

  • International Support: Through book donations, we’ve supported young learners in an orphanage in Ukraine, providing educational resources to inspire curiosity and growth.
  • Healthcare Partnerships: We partner with hospitals to bring learning resources and leadership tools to medical students and young patients.

Environmental Clean-Up Events

We believe a healthy environment and healthy communities go hand in hand. Our Environmental Clean Up Events unite young leaders, patients, and advocates to restore local green spaces while raising awareness of the environmental factors linked to autoimmune disease.

These events build teamwork and civic leadership, deepen understanding of environmental health, and connect participants with a community that shares a commitment to cleaner, healthier lives.
