You Got This, Kid! Leadership Foundation

Our Story

Building a Brighter Tomorrow

What started with a book became a community of people coming together to build this foundation and mobilize our mission.

- Chuck Saia

The foundation’s roots trace back to YOU GOT THIS, KID! Words of Advice for Young Leaders, a book written by Chuck Saia, who has spent more than three decades building a distinguished career in corporate leadership. Drawing on experiences from his rise through Deloitte—from Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte’s Risk & Financial Advisory business to Chief Risk, Reputation and Regulatory Affairs Officer—Chuck penned the book to share what he wished every young professional knew:
how to build confidence, navigate uncertainty, and lead with integrity.
But the story didn’t end with the book.

Chuck’s commitment to mentorship, his compassion for people, and his long-standing philanthropic focus on lupus research and environmental sustainability sparked something bigger. Through a chance connection on LinkedIn with Karin Wagner, Founder & CEO of Invigorate and a 15-year Lupus thriver, a shared vision began to take shape:
A foundation dedicated to empowering young leaders and improving the lives of people affected by autoimmune diseases—while protecting the environment that sustains us all.
A few months later, the You Got This, Kid! Leadership Foundation was officially launched.

The Saia Family's Story

The Saia family has closely witnessed the trials and tribulations the autoimmune disease Lupus can place on a family. Chuck, Allison and their two sons, Ethan and Matthew, have supported Allison’s sister Amy Szoke and her family, through two lupus induced strokes, daily joint pain and fatigue as well as a recent diagnosis of Lupus Nephritis.

The Saia and Szoke families are just two of the thousands of families and millions of people impacted by Lupus in the United States alone. There’s not a cure nor even a trivial understanding of the root cause.
